Are you doing a 365? how is it going? I am nearly half way through mine, I love the discipline of taking a photograph every day and I love prompts and themes. At the moment I am doing November in black and white, it does make you think about your subjects and what will work etc but if you are stuck for ideas I recommend it. Do you have any ideas for 365 topics? Would love to hear how you think of things to photograph.
When trying to be different just doesn't work...
A year ago I got an iphone and loved taking instagrams and little videos and then I had a hissy fit and decided I didn't want to be like everyone else so I traded it in for a blackberry and felt very smug that I was 'different' from everyone else. Fast forward to a year later and I now have an iphone again! what changed? well I decided a few things, photography is about the pictures and the love of taking pictures and it doesn't matter how you take them as long as you take them. It's all about being aware of what is around you, looking up - no one looks up - looking down, there is so much to see and it needs to be captured regardless of the camera. I also realised at Oasis that out of 85 women being the only one without an iphone wasn't me sticking two fingers up to the crowd, it was me sitting all alone because I had no one to play with! So, I am humbled and I am now starting an iphone journey again and would love to follow you all so let me know where I can find you, I am at justinegordon123
Autumn in London
Last week a friend of mine came to visit from Sydney and I took her on my mini tour of London, this also coincided with her new found love of instagram so we spent the morning looking for red phone boxes and red London buses and British flags! Continuing the British theme, I decided to end my tour with one of my favourite places, Kensington Palace Gardens. I remember visiting the Palace just after Diana had died and the gates were completely adorned with flowers as was the entire pathway. Even though it is pretty grey and miserable in London as winter approaches, taking someone on a tour of your city and seeing it through their eyes really makes you really appreciate it don't you think?
Grateful
It seems everyone is spending November thinking about what they are grateful for. One of my favourite groups on flickr is the wonderful prompt addicts and this week their prompt is gratitude. If you need a weekly theme to give you an incentive to keep on with your 365 then I highly recommend joining the flickr group, you get a new theme in your inbox on Sundays.
I am grateful today for having lovely flowers to look at on a grey day in London.

Lines and textures
I took my film camera to Oasis with me loaded with black and white film. The ACE hotel we stayed at lent itself so well to the timeless quality of film and I loved all the lines and textures of the walls surrounding the hotel.
Tutus and converse
Another picture from the Shutter sisters ladies who loved being in their tutus and of course converse
November
I am not a fan of winter but I do love the brief glimpse of sunlight, low in the sky and soft and warm for just an hour or two. Perfect for flicking through books for inspiration.
