I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and that you are looking forward to the new year with lots of resolutions for 2013. We are spending January @mortalmuses on instagram with the theme of resolutions, come and join us. We kick off tomorrow with your words for 2013, what is your mantra for the year? share your words in the instagram pool with #muse_theme I look forward to seeing your shots there. In the meantime a very happy New Year to you all and hope all your dreams and wishes for the New Year come true.
Merry Christmas
Things seem to have got terribly busy these last few days although all is quiet now and the presents are wrapped, turkey bought and all that remains is for me to wish you all a very Happy Christmas! I hope you have a lovely time where ever you are and what ever you are doing. I look forward to seeing you in 2013 and don't forget to eat your sprouts tomorrow!
Winter on film
A few weeks ago I was asked to join the wonderful group of ladies at Mortal Muses, I was so excited to be asked and it proves that things do happen if you dream long enough! Today I am musing for my first post and I am talking about using film to shoot in winter.
I know a lot of you don't use film but if you are ever tempted now is the time to do it as winter provides such wonderful textures and patterns and glorious shadows and light. We are also giving away some great prizes so even more reason to visit.
A quiet moment
I am slowly getting everything done for Christmas, the house is quiet, Alice and Harry come back next week from University for the holidays and I am counting down the hours. I love these quiet moments for list writing, thinking, and enjoying the winter sun. How about you? are you organised for Christmas?
Some more green and white
I picked this gladioli from my garden yesterday, it was totally frozen and opened overnight with the heating, some very odd global warming going on! I am so grateful for my garden, I spent yesterday afternoon in it planting all my tulips (I hope I haven't left them too late!) and some standard roses, I hope they will all take and put on a great show for spring. Has anyone else left their tulips to the last minute? do you think they will flower?
Day three
I am grateful that my photography lets me see everyday items in the supermarket in a different light, I bought this to photograph, not to cook with! Does anyone else do that?
31 Days of gratitude
The lovely Jute over at bless her heart wrote on her blog about spending December with a grateful heart and I have decided to play along too, is anyone else interested? It is all too easy to take all the little things for granted and get caught up in all the Christmas hype so I'm going to spend a little bit of time each day thinking about all the little things I am grateful for.
Today is all about finding lovely silly Christmas decorations that I can hang on the door and no other words are necessary, love is all you need at this time of year don't you agree?
