Rituals and routines

For Darrah Parker's second week of a slice of life project we have to focus on our rituals and routines. For me in the winter my ritual is always a bath at the end of the day. Do you have a ritual or routine?

  4. Ah, I have the same ritual after a long day of work. It doesn't look like my tub is as nice as yours, so I probably wouldn't photograph it, but your photo looks great. I use lavender bath salts each time...smells so good!

  5. No rituals or routines here at my house, Justine....each day seems to have a mind of it's own although I do treasure my long, hot showers every day to ease my aches and pains and wash away all the negativity in the world around me.

  6. What a wonderful photo - I love the light and the tones, and the ritual! At this time of the year I come home and make a nice pot of hot tea to get warm again. I sit on the couch with a blanket and enjoy the warmth of being inside!

I've never been much of a bath person - I like to start my day with a shower :-)

  13. Oh how I love a bath. It is my cure all for everything from a stomach ache to a really bad day.
My ritual is to start each day with a bath, it is the one thing I do for myself everyday (or almost, sometimes I have a shower.) I love waking up slowly with no demands of me or my time.
I have wanted to photograph a tub like this, mine is the modern fiberglass kind. So no pic of my tub.
    Love the pic!
Oooh, if you get the lavender bath salts recipe will you share?

  15. amazing shot! I wish i could take a bath at the end of the day but since i've moved to australia and we're in a drought... i'm not sure taking a bath would be the greatest idea.. but if only i could end my day with a bath it would be lovely.

  17. Love the color in this one. It looks so old fashioned, yet so modern too. My routine is a cup of hot tea every night before bed.

  20. I love those sepia tones - so fitting for the subject. These snapshots of your home lead me to suspect it's a very lovely place. My whole day seems to be rituals and routines but I also make time for a bath at the end of the day.

  24. Oh I love this photo, so calming and 'homely' . I think I would love your house just from seeing the taps on the bath. Your black and white shots are so good. I have not ventured into b&w, do I need to set my camera on some special setting ( I know ,sounds like such a dumb question, ). No real rituals, except that most mornings I have 1 slice of toast and it has to be cold and crisp, as opposed to warm and soggy.
