On my walk with the dogs this morning I filled my pockets with chestnut burrs, they remind me of tiny little hedgehogs and are so sharp! I love to think that in a couple of months they will burst open and then we will have beautiful shiny conkers on the ground. I will collect handfulls of them and place them in bowls around the room because I read an article last year that said spiders are scared of them, sounds very silly but it works, try it!

Gorgeous! I'll have to go find some and see if they will chase MY spiders away because we have A LOT of spiders!
ReplyDeleteAwesome shot!
Beautiful shot! Don't think we have chestnut trees in Cape Town or Auckland.. so will have to find another way to deal with the spiders :-)
ReplyDeleteWe must be a couple of weeks ahead of you here as the conkers are already strewn on the ground - well, those that the squirrels aren't industriously putting away for winter. Is it the spikes or the conkers that spiders are scared of? I'd love to know as I'll create my own little bowl...
ReplyDeleteLovely shot and I'm going to try the spider scaring idea!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot, Justine. Hmmmm, spiders afraid of those huh, too bad I've never seen any around here because we sure have lots of spiders. Maybe you are chasing them our way.....now cut tht out!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a nice shot.
ReplyDeleteI picture these dried, and spray painted as part of a floral arrangement.
These are very cool looking little things. I don't think we have those here, but I will definitely check on that to help with the spiders!
ReplyDeleteI love the lighting in this photo!
That looks so cool - I'm not sure that I've ever seen one but you've captured the texture and color so beautifully.
ReplyDeleteFantastic photo - love the detail.
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of such a thing. I don't see many spiders inside. I used to get some black widows out side.. But I haven't ever seen any of those around in a couple of years.. Very cool picture! Hope you have a happy day..
ReplyDeleteHugs, Linda
I almost stepped on a spider last night and so I think I'll have to try this! (If we can get these where we are). A lovely capture!
