Lazy Sunday

Today is a nice lazy day, the sun is shining and all's right with the world as I am currently absorbed in my book 'We the drowned' by Carsten Jensen which is an epic tale of life at sea in the 1800's. I decided to practice again with my 24-70mm lens today and because I am participating in the 365 days photograph journey, I am being very disciplined and going out everyday (usually in my garden) to take a picture of something. I read an interesting article the other day on finding inspiration, some suggestions were to roll a dice and to make whatever you roll your number for the week - four ducks on a pond etc, or select a poem or song and illustrate it one verse at a time. I do find I look at book covers and think I could take a different shot, what gives you inspiration?

  1. This is so nice Justine. As we transition to fall, I always find my inspiration wanes a bit. I am definitely a summer person simply because winters are so long and cold here. I usually end up doing a lot more indoor shots, which means I have to think harder about composition and light, but that's a good thing (I think!!)

  2. Hi Justine,
This is a wonderful shot.. Nice Lazy day sounds perfect to me.. I just love how you were able to get that ladybug in the shot.

I haven't missed a day yet but I am only on day 16.. I am really enjoying it so far. I did look at a magazine the other day and it is so funny how differently I look at the pictures.. It's a fun Hobby...

I hope you enjoy your day.. Hugs, Linda

  3. I've been searching for inspiration lately - I like the idea of picking themes to give you a little something to go on.

  4. Beautiful photo. I love the colors, it reminds me of Fall. I prefer to be outdoors to take photographs, and now that the weather is starting to get cooler, I can enjoy a little more outdoor inspiration. Lately I have been having fun looking for textures.

  6. Love the little lady bug on the dry flowers, Justine. There is so much to see all around us, even so much we could never see it all or our minds would explode. (that's some vision)

  8. This is beautiful, Justine! I'm also very disciplined about the 365 project and sometimes I get the feeling of "oh my, what should I take a picture of today???"... Normally, I go on a walk with my camera and look around very intensely and then suddenly I see something that strikes me - a nice flower, a special light. What's really difficult for me is shooting indoors! I'm not accustomed to it and I always struggle with the tripod.
