As part of Darrah Parkers's slice of life project. we have to photograph things around our home that are important to us. My bed fits into that category, I love the simplicity of it, I only have white bedlinen and I like to pile the bed high with pillows. I do most of my reading in bed although I tend to fall asleep very quickly, I am currently reading a fantastic book called The London Train by Tessa Hadley. What are you reading?

I love my bed and that's where I do most of my reading too! Makes it hard when you're reading an enormous hardcover as I frequently am. Right now I'm reading several books about balancing work and motherhood, and Educating Alice on my nook.
ReplyDeleteLOve it. I'm reading several things at once. Usually I mix a non-fiction in with the fiction, unless the fiction has grabbed me so tightly I can't put it down. But, that hasn't happened in a long time.
ReplyDeleteA very cozy shot! I fall asleep way too quickly when i read in bed, so I try to stick with the couch. I'm currently reading The Wind-Up Bird Chronical by Haruki Murakami, in my effort to dwindle down the list of 1,000 Must Read Books :)
ReplyDeleteLooks very comfy! I am reading The 19th Wife by
ReplyDeleteDavid Ebershoff.
Your bed looks so soft and cozy.. What a wonderful photo..
ReplyDeleteHugs, Linda
Beautiful and I love the white.
ReplyDeleteI always fall asleep too fast to read in bed, but in my living room chair, I'm finishing up a series of novels by Charlaine Harris. ;)
Lovely soft lighting - just right for a bedroom. Your indoor shots are beautiful - you must have really great light in your home. Mine are always dark as the house tends to be a little dark and I struggle with that.
ReplyDeleteI love the light and the soft tones! It looks so comfortable and inviting, I'd like to sink in there immediately and enjoy those fresh linen! Thanks for the book link - sounds interesting (I bookmarked it)! At the moment I read "The Lost Symbol" by Dan Brown. I normally read on my way to work and back.
ReplyDeleteYour bed looks very cozy. I can fully understand why you do most of the reading in bed.
ReplyDeleteI am reading The Queen's Fool by Philippa Gregory. I managed to finish her other book The Constant Princess over Christmas, which must the first book I have read in ages from start to finish.
I am reading Writing Down the Bones by Natalie Goldberg... again. :)
ReplyDeleteI love it too. Great photo.
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely Justine!
ReplyDeleteLove the pristine whites.
my bed doesn't look at all that pretty but i love it nonetheless. great shot!
ReplyDeleteOh, the sactuary of a soft, warm bed! Lovely photograph Justine.
ReplyDelete...I so agree with the comfy "retreat" idea for a master bedroom. I have my books and even a small love seat and soft stool. But more times than not, I read in my bed and fall asleep with a book in my lap! Such a great Partially Seen shot.
ReplyDeleteLovely shot! There is nothing like ending the day in the comfort of bed with a good book. I also can't read for too long at bed time so it takes me ages to finish a book. I'm enjoying having more reading time during the holidays and often sneak an hour or two of daytime reading on the couch which feels very self indulgent! I finished Mister Pip by Lloyd Jones the other which I loved, and have just started Shirley Goodness and Mercy by Chris van Wyk - a memoir set in Johannesburg in the 60's. i am going to add The London Train to my 2011 reading list!
ReplyDeleteI love the shot. I too read in bed: right now i'm reading "Naked Economics". Its actually a pretty interesting read about economics.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love my bed, too! Right now, I'm reading (and re-reading) Understanding Exposure and my camera's manual. I normally do most of my reading on the exercise bike, though.
ReplyDeleteLovely Justine and looks super comfy. Guilty of reading Christmas magazines right now (got a bunch from my sister in law before she went OS). I will have to get back into some proper lit soon :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I'm reading "A Vintage Affair" by Isabel Wolff the images she paints of vintage dresses is making me want to shop
ReplyDeleteI love to read in bed!! Believe it or not - I am re-reading one of my childhood favorites - Little House on the Prairie.
