The first asparagus of the season

Asparagus is in the shops now, a true sign of spring. I bought a bunch this morning at the farmer's market. If you hold the asparagus and snap it has a natural break so no need to cut off the ends, then just steam it for three minutes and drizzled with oil, and sprinkle with sea salt  - absolutely delicious!

  2. So enticing! We LOVE asparagus... the girls will start at the bottom and when they get to the leafy bit they will place it on our plates. At least they eat most of, right?!?

  8. Wow - I didn't think asparagus was this early. Is it local? It's a lovely shot - the crisp bag echos the crispness of the asparagus. This is one of my favourite vegetables.
