Opening the window

I decided to throw open the window today even though it's freezing cold again, I need to shake off winter.
Using an aperture of f2.8 meant that the grass outside became a lovely blend of green.

  1. Sounds like my place today - the sun is shining and I've had the window open quietly telling myself that it's not "that" cold. Definitely ready for some warmer weather!

  3. Wow - what a gorgeous shot! I'm pretty jealous that you can see green. I'll be waiting for snow to melt for months.

  4. This is a brilliant picture. I love the blurred green. A lens with a large aperture setting really makes a difference doesn't it?

  8. This is a great shot Justine, and I did just this (opened some windows) yesterday. Still horribly cold here also, but just wanted that fresh air in the house. Truly felt good!

  10. I'm about ready for an open the window day....jealous. House is craving fresh air-or perhaps it's the house's occupant.
Lovely close up....against the green, such contrast. Enjoy the air.

  13. Love, love, love this one . The piece of hard, dark curled metal against that soft green background is just too beautiful. As soon as I saw it I thought ' how has she done that with the back ground ' and then you so thoughtfully explained....thank you.

  14. Great capture. That wide open aperture really did capture wonderful color, focus on the subject and dof. Great work.

  17. When I finally got to open a window the other day, I'm not sure who was more excited, me or the cat returning to her perch! Love the green here too.

  19. What a wonderful effect. So great to see that we don't need photo editing programmes when we know how to use our camera's properly!!

  21. First of all, I really love your photo, but secondly, the iron handle on that window is so unique! We have boring windows in our home...nothing to photograph like that. Lovely!

  22. Isn't that the most lovely detail. And against that green, so beautiful.
