World book night

I have always loved books, I have so many in the house and am never without a book by my bedside. I believe the old adage that there are too many good books to waste on a bad one so if I don't like a book I will happily toss it aside half way through. Wherever you are I hope you get a chance to sit in a comfy chair with a good book tonight.

  12. LOL! I am at this very moment waiting for my daughter to buy a sandwich and we just left the used book store having spent almost $100. And let me tell you, that buys a ton of used books. Looks like the book you photographed has seen many a pages turned!

  18. Oh. I am so with you on ' giving up" on a book. People will go on about some fantastic book that has had rave reviews and I sometimes feel bad because I did'nt not only not enjoy it, I didn't even finish it !! Love your photo, the old book looks truly interesting and amazing

  19. Lovely shot Justine, such great texture. And I completely agree with you, life is too short to read books you don't enjoy. I had to grit my teeth and and just carry on when I had to read certain novels when I studied literature, but not any more!

  22. Lovely photo Justine - I felt incredibly liberated when I decided I was no longer going to finish books that I wasn't enjoying. Funninly enough it took me to roughly calculate how many "books" I had left to read before I turned 80... defintely not enough to waste on a bad book!
