I have always loved books, I have so many in the house and am never without a book by my bedside. I believe the old adage that there are too many good books to waste on a bad one so if I don't like a book I will happily toss it aside half way through. Wherever you are I hope you get a chance to sit in a comfy chair with a good book tonight.

ReplyDeleteOh...this is beautiful. I love that old adage...I must remember that!
ReplyDeleteLOL! I am at this very moment waiting for my daughter to buy a sandwich and we just left the used book store having spent almost $100. And let me tell you, that buys a ton of used books. Looks like the book you photographed has seen many a pages turned!
ReplyDeleteGReat picture. Ofcourse now I'm curious what that book is about. Or is it a bible?
ReplyDeleteI am using the rainy weather to curl up in front of the fire with my book - great suggestion.

ReplyDeleteThis is probably one of my favorite shots, ever!! I love it.
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful shot of that worn book. I love books too, and can't imagine ever being without them.
ReplyDeleteOh. I am so with you on ' giving up" on a book. People will go on about some fantastic book that has had rave reviews and I sometimes feel bad because I did'nt not only not enjoy it, I didn't even finish it !! Love your photo, the old book looks truly interesting and amazing
ReplyDeleteLovely shot Justine, such great texture. And I completely agree with you, life is too short to read books you don't enjoy. I had to grit my teeth and and just carry on when I had to read certain novels when I studied literature, but not any more!
ReplyDeleteYour shot is absolutely beautiful.. I just love it.. It does make me want to curl up by a fire and with a cup of tea and read a good book!
ReplyDeleteHope you are enjoying your weekend..
Hugs, Linda
I love my Kindle, but ah, there's nothing like the feel of a good book!
ReplyDeleteLovely photo Justine - I felt incredibly liberated when I decided I was no longer going to finish books that I wasn't enjoying. Funninly enough it took me to roughly calculate how many "books" I had left to read before I turned 80... defintely not enough to waste on a bad book!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely agree with you - I couldn't be without a book! I love your photo - what a wonderful texture of that old book!
