I turned on breakfast television this morning at 6.30 and saw that they were doing a dress rehearsal for the wedding so I dashed out with my camera but sadly I only got the tail end with some of the soldiers. They started rehearsals in the early hours of this morning but of course didn't tell anyone it was happening!
I also took a short video with my 7D, the first time I have used it to film so it's a bit wobbly and shaky as I got so excited!
The green rooms behind are where the worldwide television stations are watching from
No one was outside Buckingham Palace this morning, the calm before the storm
Justine! These are fabulous! Thank you so much for giving us a preview! I was hoping that now you are living in London we would get to see some of the Royal Wedding. These are so brilliant. Most impressed by the video footage.Won't be long before you are the official Royal Photographer!!!!
ReplyDeleteMust be a wonderful feeling in the air in London. Charmaine
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to your recount of the wedding. We don't own a TV and Germany isn't quite so crazy about the royal wedding as I'd like so I'm not sure if any pubs will be showing it live (as I'm sure the UK and Australia are doing). Think I'll have to live off reports and the autopsy in the newspapers. :)
ReplyDeleteThese are great! I, too, was hoping that you would share some of the wedding excitement.
ReplyDeleteI have yet to use the video function on my 7D.

Cool video . . .
ReplyDeleteAnd I am so jealous you're there, in London, right now. I'd give anything to be there to see any part of the royal nuptials. Please keep sharing moments with us. We're living vicariously through you, with you.
Thanks.
What a wonderful time to be in London Justine.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing the events here!
Fabulous shots, Justine.....just one question. Is that a dog on that horse in the last shot?
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots, so glad you could catch them. Interesting little "green rooms". I have to say, the hype here in the US is bordering on the ridiculous. Don't get me wrong, I'll be up in the wee hours to watch it all, but right now I wonder what is happening in the rest of the world that we are missing, because everyone is guessing what Kate is going to wear. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your photos. It is really something neat to see.
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots. A very exciting time to be in London.
ReplyDeleteoh wow these are great. can't wait to see more shots from london. thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteHow cool Justine!! I didn't look at the video, but I love these stills. The shot of Buckingham Palace with that gorgeous light-wow. Very nice to see it so quiet. Girl, you are in the right place at the right time.
ReplyDeleteOn Facebook they're joking how you create your "royal"/appropriate for the wedding name.
Start with Lady, add one of your grandmother's names, choose the name of your first pet and hyphenate it with the street name where you grew up. That makes me Lady Virginia Myrtle-Boothby. Think I could get in?
Enjoy the craziness and the once in a lifetime photo ops.
How gorgeous and exciting Justine! Thanks so much for this impression! I imagine London will be all festive these days!
ReplyDeleteSo glad we have our very own photographer there in London to send photos back to us of the happenings in London. I love the little video clip! Looking forward to more....
ReplyDeleteExcellent. I heard of the rehearsels on the radio this morning bit late for me to get into central London.
ReplyDeleteOh I can't wait!!!
ReplyDeleteSo exciting - I'm sure - to actually be there in London for this great event. Will be watching from this side of the pond. Terrific series of images!
ReplyDeleteThe horses are regal! Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos.
So cool that you could be there to get these photos!
ReplyDeleteThis is all so cool to see! Thanks for sharing, I've been looking through all of the pics today. I especially like the one of the guards on the horses, second from the bottom. The light is wonderful!
