The letter P

It's time for the letter P over at film26.  I decided to go for colour film this time having taken black and white for the last six months, it is fun experimenting, I urge you all to get out your old cameras. This is a shot of my husband's desk with all his pens and pencils on it. With regards to desks and stationary, I am so excited as Martha Stewart now has a line of stationery in staples here online! I love Martha even though every time I mention her my husband reminds me she went to jail, there is something about having everything organised and ordered that appeals to me, I think if I just own her notepads I will be a more organised and ordered person. The ones on sale seem to be in a nice shellac, I currently use the moleskins for all my photography notes, they sit by my computer and if I find something interesting online I jot it down. What do you use for photography notes? do you take any? do you have scraps of paper and post it notes lying around your desk? how do you work?

  1. I have two notebooks - one for general info found online and one for the BL course. Plus lots of pieces of paper! The desk in your photo looks very sumptious!

  3. Wonderful desk shot, Justine. For all sorts of notes I took a spiral bound notebook and put tabs on every so many pages; one section for email addresses, one for watercolor notes, one for camera notes, etc. I don't know what I'll do if a particular section gets filled up, maybe say see page whatever and put a second tab. LOL I think "organized" is my middle name. Always have been, always will be.

  4. Your husband's desk is beautiful with that embossed leather design. I am not a note taker, but if I do need to make a quick reminder, I use the app on my iphone. Sometimes I email photography links to myself to check them later. I'm sure there's a more efficient way of doing things. I need to investigate. You gave me something to ponder. Hmmmm...

  5. The joy of a stationary store...not everyone understands that. I love Martha's collections.

I have a journal in my computer room, craft room and bedroom to jot notes down in. Now I just need to do something wil all my ideas! Haha!

    Such a beautiful desk!

    Happy Tuesday Justine!

  6. I do the same as Carol, with tabs. I just got a notebook for Oasis and afraid it isn't what I am going to want. I was just in Barns and Noble looking at all the notebooks and journals. One in particular stuck my eye which was a 30 days health journal with inspiration. They are saying that if you can keep a journal for that long then it becomes a habit. I walked away from it but keep thinking about it..

  7. I love desks full of gorgeous notebooks preferably the ones I've sourced from India; just started a crisp, fresh one this afternoon with a peacock feather design. Oh I totally get your passion for Martha and her organisational bit and pieces :) lovely photo by the way.

  11. Lovely desk shot -- film really does have such a different quality to it. I always mean to be more organized -- I have scraps of paper and three notebooks on my desk. Not a good system!

  15. I love this picture!! I agree with Kimberly ~ gorgeous rich tones.
I so wish having the Martha Stewart paper would help with organization!! I would buy them all!! I have sticky notes everywhere, but can never find the one I need at the time :-)

  16. This looks so beautiful Justine! And I also agree on Martha Stewart or any other stationary that should help me keep organized. I must admit that I don't have a real system - I take notes on a simple paper pad and file those pages in a small binder. Then I make screen shots and bookmark interesting things on my computer or send the link to my email address to store it somewhere (or to be forgotten forever...). And sometimes I type notes up on my computer. So my difficulty really is that I have a lot of information at different places...

  17. This is such a gorgeous photo. Such perfect composition. LOVE the rich tones. I have to say I am not one to take to many notes. I like to think I am pretty organized. But maybe not...

    Hugs~

  18. Wow, love image!
Notes, notes, you say! I have notes and lists, and scraps of paper and reminders...giggle. I jot down a place I'd like to photograph, or something I've seen when I was without my camera so I can go back, etc.
Martha, love her or hate her she is one remarkable woman with a keen sense business and great taste. xo
