Coffee and a chat

Wouldn't it be nice if we could all meet up for coffee and a chat? This is one of my favourite places to sit and have coffee, here on my window seat. From here I can see what's going on in the street, at 8am it is full of the noise of little children and mothers on their way to school and from 12am till about 3am it has the occasional drunk wandering down it. I love to leave the window open and just listen to the sounds of London as I sit at my computer. I have recently joined twitter, I just don't get twitter at all, it just seems to be all about self promotion or disjointed conversations that you feel you are overhearing snippets of in noisy rooms, does anyone else feel like this or is it just me? what am I doing wrong? I keep thinking how I would so much rather meet in person over a coffee, wouldn't you?

  3. Oh coffee in person is so much better, Justine. I think you've put the exact definition to Twitter.........after all what are the first 4 letters and what do people call someone who spouts off useless information just for the heck of it (those same first 4 letters).....oh my! I do not use Twitter. :)

  4. Beautiful place to sit and watch the world or part of the world go by. I agree I don't really understand Twitter or for that matter facebook. Facebook is easier to understand but really do not have a love for the site. I am on Facebook because my kids post pictures of the grands but have thought many a time to deactive my account. I think it is a time suck. IMO

  5. Nothing will ever replace "real" chats, meeting with people in person -- it seems to be better with coffee, though.
Sometimes I think it's a generational thing -- this social networking. But I'm just not into it like the kids. I get Twitter, just don't care for it. And I've got a FaceBook account, but I hardly use it. No substitute for talking in person, that human contact thing. You're not doing anything wrong! Hang on to the values you know are important and real.

  6. Thank you for bringing us into your beautiful area for coffee and a chat. I think that would be my favorite place in the house and would never want to leave. Picture perfect.

I can hardly keep up with bloggin', much less facebook or twitter.

    Have a blessed day.

  7. How strange, in a good way, I have just put up a new post and it too is about "coffee". Well mine is about a page I've just done but I just saw your post come up on my side bar and saw it was about coffee, oooooo we're "connected"....( who needs twitter lol ! ) I would love to sit in your window seat and share a coffee with you and have a face to face voice talk. I don't do twitter, it's all I can cope with to do facebook. To me, twitter seems to be a desperate attempt to fit more into peoples lives, maybe because they don't have much of a life or they are lonely. We have a window seat that looks out onto our front garden and it gets the morning sun...beautiful in winter. I'd take a photo of it if I thought I could take one as beautiful as yours. xx

  9. What a neat place to sit and watch and relax. I love Twitter. Actually, I get more up to the minute news on it than anywhere else. If I want to know what's going on I go there. I guess it depends on what you want out of it and who you're following. I've enjoyed your photography tweets and retweets very much!

  10. What a wonderful place to sit Justine, and I love this photograph.
I have a Twitter account (I think), but I've never used it.
I'm not sure I really "get" it, but maybe some time I will give it a try.
I agree with you that it's just not the same as an in person visit.
    You have a wonderful day!

  11. I could see why that is such a great coffee spot. Twitter will grow on you. I have found that I mostly follow folks rather than tweet myself. I pick an assortment of people I like that I would want to hear from occasionally for fun. I'm not a celebrity follower or product follower at all. News orgs can be interesting as well.

  13. Would love to be sitting by your gorgeous window sipping coffee with you right now!!! I totally agree with you about twitter, it seems so disjointed and so easy to take out of context I am yet to join.

  22. Hi, Justine! =] Yes, I'm back visiting... even more to the point, visiting and COMMENTING. I haven't forgotten about you! and I so appreciate your simple thoughts about the disjointedness of computer conversations and yearning for a good old chat over a cup of coffee. People are so close on the computer and, yet, so far away. What a curious modern age we live in!

    xo
