The olympic park itself is full of wildflowers, such a wonderful change from municipal gardening you see everywhere.
This is the orbit tower designed by Anish Kapoor, it is rather beautiful, you can go on it but the queues were pretty long so we didn't. I am off to Hyde Park this morning to watch the women's 10k open swimming. I am so loving the Olympics, london is just buzzing and the atmosphere is so amazing.
Must be amazing to be there. Just saw the Australian K4 team win a gold in rowing.
ReplyDeleteLove your photo of the wildflowers, delightful.
Beautiful photos, love the cauldron-such a great design & those wildflowers are lovely.
ReplyDeleteThese are extraordinary photos.
ReplyDeleteThat cauldron is such a great execution of "the flame."
Your pictures are the next best thing to being there. I have wanted to see the cauldron up close. IT looks HOT.
ReplyDeleteHope you will post more pictures of your outings there.
I have so enjoyed seeing all the shots in your beautiful city. I always thought London was cool but at this time in London history and to have a front row seat is so much better.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots, Justine...glad you are enjoy int Olympics.
ReplyDeleteFabulous photos - the one of the cauldron is awesome. I didn't expect to love the Olympics as much as I do and you're right, London is just buzzing. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat and artistic shots Justine! I would love to be there with your running all over London taking photos! Have fun!
ReplyDeleteWhat great photos. I went to Waddesdon Manor yesterday (olympics day off) and some of the works of art in the grounds are just stunning and beg to be photographed. My daughter took a great shot of her reflection in a granite piece by Anish Kapoor. My husband is at the olympic park today, I hope his photos are even a small patch on yours!
ReplyDeleteLove those wildflowers! Also great angle on the tower and the first shot of the cauldron is really awesome!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting to get to see the Olympics! And I think that cauldron is a fascinating creation!
ReplyDeleteWow, how wonderful that you were able to attend. Beautiful images, Justine. xo
ReplyDeleteLove the wildflowers!
ReplyDeleteThat is so exciting that you got and see some of the Olympics in person. I don't know why I tear up just watching it sometimes. I just cant image all the work and dedication that those athletes go through.. Let alone the pride a city feel from hosting.. Great photos. I love the wild flowers.
ReplyDeleteHugs~
Stunning photos! How wonderful to be in London right now. We are loving seeing all the action on tv. Going to miss it when it's all over! xo
ReplyDeletesooo exciting to have the Olympics in town. I went to a tennis tournament at our LA Olympics years ago, before tennis became an official sport (has it yet?) At that time, TheChief was out and about the LA area rousting prostitutes so that the area was relatively prostitute free!!! (This was l-o-n-g before we connected and he was still with LAPD...)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for posting these photos. So good to see the venue that isn't from the media. Love the wild flowers! Hope you are having a wonderful time!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving all your photos and I'm so envious that you have had the chance to view the Olympic games in person! It must be so exciting!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you got to go - wasn't it amazing. Your city/country should be so proud.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sad we didn't get to meet up for a photo walk while I was there - my schedule was so far outside of my control I never knew when I've have free time.
I am in LOVE with that first photo of the cauldron, I never got to see it in person, but this is one of the best shots of it I've seen. Love, love!
Fantastic shot of the Olympic cauldron, you can just feel the heat coming off it.
ReplyDeleteWe weren't so luckily to get into the stadium but did manage to get to tickets to see the Hockey so we were able to stroll around the Olympic Park.
