Things that make you go mmmm....

I met up with the lovely Leanne yesterday and we went to a very trendy place called The Grounds which is in an industrial part of Sydney. We spent a very happy couple of hours eating a delicious breakfast and snapping away until we were told to stop taking photographs unless we paid $500!!  Everything was so well done and it really was a photographer's paradise, I took so many pictures.

I came home with a loaf of barley sourdough and the choice of breads was amazing, all gluten and wheat free and made from ingredients I had no idea you could make bread from.

The flower shop was amazing too, I bought a bunch of flowers and some flower scissors to add to my props cupboard.

  1. What a divine place and beautiful photos! Except that I can't believe they were so rude to you. They should have been honored that you found so much beauty in their lovely place of business. Well, I'm glad you enjoyed your time there in spite of them! {Will you be going back? :-D }

  4. Wow, they should have been glad to have you that interested in their shop. Free advertising for sure, now it's unfortunately negative advertising instead of positive. They could have just asked to have copies of the photos to use in advertising. Glad you enjoyed yourselves despite their rudeness.

  5. Five hundred dollars??? Just to take photos for your own personal use? I'm glad you got lots before they stopped you! It looks like a great place to visit, eat...and take pictures.

  6. Places/Owners can be so funny about photogprahy in their place. I have had some great experiences and I have had a couple of not so good. One really bad and I haven't been back to the place since, it left a bad taste in my mouth, which is funny since it was a candy store.

  9. What a lovely place for breakfast! So glad you could get some shots before they shut you down. I've had the same experience in shops and stores. Once a mall cop threatened to arrest me!

  10. Oh so much to look at and enjoy and I agree with everyone, you were giving them a positive and they gave you a negative. Not nice of them. I am not sure what I would have done as a shop owner but I don't think I would have been so mean. Maybe go back with some images and talk to the owner that might turn this around. I mean good publicity and advertising. Well one thing we love you and thank you for showing.
