How do you unwind? let off steam? find mindfulness? It's hard to switch off all the noise nowadays, so much going on, so much fear and anger and worry. I have to be outside to make sense of things, a walk seems to cure a lot for me and if things are particularly stuck in my head, I pick up a stick and tell it my fears and I throw it into the sea and I let the ocean take it for me. This doesn't work all the time but it does help.
The Scandinavians have hygge, the Norwegians have Friluftsliv, the Japanese have forest bathing. What ever we call it, it's all about being at one with nature, using your senses to see, feel, touch, hear, smell and taste and putting all our senses to work makes us stop and think. Even taking your shoes off and planting your feet firmly on the ground helps. Put your phone away and just go for a walk, I promise it will help.
