Yesterday I went for a walk with my basket and the dogs and came back with all these lovely fruits picked straight from the trees and hedgerows. The farmers allow us to pick the apples and pears off the trees in the local orchards and the sloe berries and elderberries grow wild, you can make delicious sloe gin and elderberry wine from them. I am not sure whether I will actually get around to making all these things, I promise myself each year that I will, we shall see...

So beautiful! I love the composition - the basket is simply amazing! And the mix of colours is so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love that you included the boots!
ReplyDeleteAm loving the sound of that sloe gin and elderberry wine!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely shot Justine!
Have a great day.
Lovely photo, Justine. Sounds like a beautiful day.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like such a perfect day! Love the picture :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's just beautiful - harvest is so beautiful. We have "hedgerows" but they aren't like yours. The only lovely thing that I can think that people make from all of this kind of harvest is hard apple cider, which I don't particularly like. Berries are so beautiful, though!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your black and white with the dog pulling!!!! Wonderful!
Love, Katy Noelle
I loved this one for ABC. How wonderful that you can just harvest directly from hedgerows! (I've heard so much about making your own elderberry wine & would love to try someday!)
ReplyDeletewhat a beautiful shot!!
ReplyDeletegreetings from Spain
OK, that. is. it!!! I now know for sure that I need to move somewhere over by you!! We have the hardest time getting anything to grow here! I have fruit trees that never bear fruit, raspberry bushes with one raspberry, and elderberry bushes with never a sign of an elderberry! The only way that I get to find things like this is to go to the store!! Love your pic though, (can you tell I am jealous!) I love the basket and the boots standing there like they are ready to go for more.
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful neighbors you have!
ReplyDeletewhat a great photo. I just love the looks of that wire basket.. I hope you are enjoying your week.. Hugs, Linda
