Battenburg cake

 I love cake and I especially love Battenburg cake. It is very English and traditional and consists of coloured sponge squares held together with apricot jam and covered in marzipan. This one comes from Fortnum and Mason and was absolutely delicious. I am so grateful for delicious cakes like these on the weekends. I go by the 80/20 rule of eating, have done for the last 18 months and it works for me. I have tried intermittent fasting etc but I just get very grumpy. I now eat well during the week but on Saturdays I eat what I like and I look forward to things like cakes and chocolates.
