I wanted to take a picture of her hand today as even though she is off on this big adventure as a young woman, when I look at her hands I can still see so much of the child in her and I have looked, held, and touched these hands for the last 19 years and I will really miss them. Anyway, it's only a few weeks till Christmas when she will be home.

Best of luck to Alice, and to you. It's both a happy and sad time to have a child leaving for college. My son started college a month or so ago, but he decided to stay home and drive back and forth (it's only about 20 minutes away). I'll keep both of you in my thoughts for a smooth and easy transition.

Oh gosh, I remember that bittersweet moment. Daughters always stay close to their Mums however and you may be surprised how often she wlll turn to you for advice. With Tweeting, Skyping and all the rest we're never really far away from a quick chat. :)
