We got an invitation to a Christmas party last night and of course I was more excited about the fact that it would be a good prop for photographing! Once I took it out of the envelope in opened out to silhouettes of a ballerina, a singer, a rap dancer and a waltzing couple, all so pretty and perfect for black and white. Do you get excited when you can see a picture potential in things?

How absolutely fabulous. I love the shadows. It is very effective. A beautiful invitation and a stunning photo. Hope the event is as good as the invite!
ReplyDeleteThis is so cool, Justine. There are endless possibilities for this prop.
ReplyDeletethis is beautiful.. The lighting is perfect!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo! Such a creative invitation.
ReplyDeleteAnd, yes, I'm the same way - I find myself buying little things, like old fashioned lollipops, to photograph. :-)
What a fun and creative image! I'm thinking photography addiction!!! Most people see something out of the ordinary and think "I probably should find my camera and take a picture of that." A photo addict spends her day with a camera around her neck thinking "No what can I take a picture of that I already haven't done at lest a hundred other times from all angles!" I've just described myself. It might sound familiar. Well, I'm off to find this morning's photo op. HaHa
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun and creative image. This sounds like a serious photography addiction to me! I know the signs. Most people see something out of the ordinary and think, "I probably should find my camera and take a picture of that", while a photo addict, who has her camera hanging around her neck at all times, thinks, "Now what can I take a picture of that I haven't already taken at least 10 times from 10 different angles!" I've just described myself!!! Oh well, time to go find my photo op for this morning. HaHa
ReplyDeleteI must admit, I do think the same way. We take a camping trip about once month. I always took lots of photos. But know with a different camera I see it in a whole new light.. I really get so excited..
ReplyDeleteI Like your B&W shot..
Hugs, Linda
I love the way you captured this! Very lovely b&w. Sigh, I used to get excited about picture potential, but not since we landed with the new budget camera for the household (but I know it's the USER, not the camera! :))
ReplyDeleteVery creative!!! perfect in B&W!
ReplyDeleteWow what a great b&w shot! Hope the party's as good as the invitation :-)
ReplyDeleteSuch a creative invitation! Great shot of it.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty. And yes I do, even with my point and shoot. :)
ReplyDeleteClever invitation! And yes, I get very excited about potential subjects to photograph.
ReplyDeleteOh, how gorgeous! I love the light here very much! And yes, I do get excited! :-)
ReplyDeleteWow, that invitations is cool! Wonder what the party will be like? :0
ReplyDeleteThe answer to your question, Always. I always get excited when I see a potential pic in things. :)
Very creative pic Justine.
Oh my goodness !! What a fantastic invitation, BUT ' it's what you have done with it' that is truly AMAZING. I would not have even known what angle to hold my camera on to photograph something like this... the way the light falls on the thin edge of the card, the different shades of white to black, it's just beautiful. There was an Australian movie made called The Castle, don't know if you ever saw it while living out here, but a very famous and now common line came out of that movie; only Ausies. usually 'get' these silly classic lines, but in the movie at dinner time the wife always makes some really basic dish like chops with mashed potato, or ice-cream with topping, and the husband always loves it and says to his wife "what do you call this darl", and the wife says oh it's just chops and mash, and then the classic reply is "yeah, but it's what you do with it". So, to finish a very long comment..... it's what YOU do with your simple subject that makes them very special... I know, I rave on a bit. Cheers.
ReplyDeleteOh, my, so beautiful! It is almost romantic in your hands
ReplyDeleteSuch a happy image....I love the shadows and tilts. Makes me want to dance! :)
ReplyDeletewhat a lovely invitation. It looks stunning in B&W
ReplyDeleteThese are beautifully lit. I agree about seeing the potential in things. Sometimes I just think of things and can see the image they would make but most don't turn out quite that way :-) Yet!!
