I wish it was summer...

I keep seeing this hat on the peg just waiting for a hot sunny day, not long to go now... I know I should embrace winter for all that it brings and I do, it's just I prefer the heat of summer. I just want to hibernate now under thick woolly blankets and not get up in the morning in the dark, doesn't everyone feel like this or is it just me? It's also black and white Wednesday at the long road to China, do check out other entries.

  1. Great shot!! I love how shiny the pegs are compared to the matte-ness of the hat. :)

  2. I wish it was summer too! We've had to dig out the snowsuits and hats and gloves here so no summer in sight.... Great shot! I just love the simple composition.

  5. I love your "in the house" photos. The carrots were not just carrots, they were silky and juicy and made me want to go make some veggie soup at my own house.
And I am in *complete* agreement with you about winter. It is just soooo misguided a season. Earlier I made that list of all the great things I love about fall. Well, fall is fall and winter is another beast altogether. I wish we could have all those beautiful autumn leaves and crisp, sunny days and then just skip right into spring. : )

  6. Another wonderful shot.. Perfect. I have to say Summer is my least favorite. Only because where I live. The heat in the summer here in Las Vegas is so hot. I have to stay indoors. Our Winters are pretty mild most of the time..

  7. I shall send you our strange California heat we've been having. :)

The framing of this pic is well done. And to use it in black and white brings a certain simplicity about it. Great job.

  9. Great shot! I, too, am wishing for summer, even though it's not that cold here - yet. But, we went from 75 one day to 50 the next, so I'm still in shock :-)

  12. I also wish it was summer, Justine! I can handle the heat much better than the cold, especially in combination with wet and grey!!! I admire how you handle the indoor shoots! I can't bring myself around to do it - in fact, I dread it and I know there won't be much other choices in the near future...! I love your photo - again such a great simplicity about it, wonderful!

  14. Sigh, this beautiful b&w just evokes summer and cool breezes. I do feel like hibernating this time every year (if only we humans could be so lucky!) There's something special about the b&w shots you take indoors :)

  15. Great shot. I agree with you. I'm struggling to get up in the mornings. My house always feels cold even though I have the heating turned up!

  16. Love this shot Justine. A definite reminder of summer. I do not like winter at all, but I try to look to the summer to come, and that makes it better. Now if only it weren't so long before it comes around again!!

  25. I'm with you - hibernation is becoming my life and I love and hate it with equal measures. In some ways it is nice to just be at home after being gone all year, but there are also so many things I want to be doing.

  26. I love the simplicity of this shot - it is so clean and perfect. I can imagine this print on the wall of a living room.

  28. Love this composition, great image. Have to say I'm not a summer person, I don't do heat so I'm quite enjoying the cold weather. Just wish there were more hours of daylight. Thanks for visiting my blog :O)

  29. Great composition. The texture of the hat works well against the smooth background and shiny hooks.
