I keep seeing this hat on the peg just waiting for a hot sunny day, not long to go now... I know I should embrace winter for all that it brings and I do, it's just I prefer the heat of summer. I just want to hibernate now under thick woolly blankets and not get up in the morning in the dark, doesn't everyone feel like this or is it just me? It's also black and white Wednesday at the long road to China, do check out other entries.

Great shot!! I love how shiny the pegs are compared to the matte-ness of the hat. :)
ReplyDeleteI wish it was summer too! We've had to dig out the snowsuits and hats and gloves here so no summer in sight.... Great shot! I just love the simple composition.

You would not be thinking that if you were over here in the sweltering heat!!! I am sitting at the moment despairing at my totally sunburnt daughter thinking ,I Just wish she had thought to take HER hat!
ReplyDeletewonderful shot, Justine. I love that hat.
ReplyDeleteI love your "in the house" photos. The carrots were not just carrots, they were silky and juicy and made me want to go make some veggie soup at my own house.
ReplyDeleteAnd I am in *complete* agreement with you about winter. It is just soooo misguided a season. Earlier I made that list of all the great things I love about fall. Well, fall is fall and winter is another beast altogether. I wish we could have all those beautiful autumn leaves and crisp, sunny days and then just skip right into spring. : )
Another wonderful shot.. Perfect. I have to say Summer is my least favorite. Only because where I live. The heat in the summer here in Las Vegas is so hot. I have to stay indoors. Our Winters are pretty mild most of the time..
ReplyDeleteI shall send you our strange California heat we've been having. :)
ReplyDeleteThe framing of this pic is well done. And to use it in black and white brings a certain simplicity about it. Great job.
I wish it were summer too! Great picture!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot! I, too, am wishing for summer, even though it's not that cold here - yet. But, we went from 75 one day to 50 the next, so I'm still in shock :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat shot although I can't wish for summer in my area - it's too hot and humid.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot :-)

I also wish it was summer, Justine! I can handle the heat much better than the cold, especially in combination with wet and grey!!! I admire how you handle the indoor shoots! I can't bring myself around to do it - in fact, I dread it and I know there won't be much other choices in the near future...! I love your photo - again such a great simplicity about it, wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI love winter, its just toooooo hot and humid here in the summer months. I would love to hibernate under the blankets each morning!
ReplyDeleteSigh, this beautiful b&w just evokes summer and cool breezes. I do feel like hibernating this time every year (if only we humans could be so lucky!) There's something special about the b&w shots you take indoors :)
ReplyDeleteGreat shot. I agree with you. I'm struggling to get up in the mornings. My house always feels cold even though I have the heating turned up!
ReplyDeleteLove this shot Justine. A definite reminder of summer. I do not like winter at all, but I try to look to the summer to come, and that makes it better. Now if only it weren't so long before it comes around again!!
ReplyDeleteGreat picture! I am already missing summer too. I love fall and the holidays...but then I am ready for Spring and summer again :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful photo! It captures the sweet sadness of the loss of summer. I'm learning to enjoy the autumn, the colors this year are magnificent.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely photo Justine.
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame we can't hold onto the beautiful summer months a little longer
Perfect composition (as always). I would gladly swap my summer here for your winter.
ReplyDeletegreat shot. i prefer the warmer months too, although i do like to wear my woolly hats so that is one thing i enjoy about fall and winter.
ReplyDeleteI hate getting out of bed in the cold morning, the bed is so warm and outside is freezing!
ReplyDeleteLove the hat!
Your photography is stunning and sets a high bar, indeed. Wow. I love the frosted flowers, the pop-up card is way cool, and this hat on peg is poignant. I love visiting here!
ReplyDeleteoh how I wish it's summer too!...lol...:)
ReplyDeletegreat shot...thanks for dropping by on my B&W entry at gregdemcy.net...it was a bbq pit!
I'm with you - hibernation is becoming my life and I love and hate it with equal measures. In some ways it is nice to just be at home after being gone all year, but there are also so many things I want to be doing.
ReplyDeleteI love the simplicity of this shot - it is so clean and perfect. I can imagine this print on the wall of a living room.
ReplyDeleteLove the black and white. It shows off the shadows perfectly and reminds me of waiting.....
ReplyDeleteLove this composition, great image. Have to say I'm not a summer person, I don't do heat so I'm quite enjoying the cold weather. Just wish there were more hours of daylight. Thanks for visiting my blog :O)
ReplyDeletewonderful shot Justine!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat composition. The texture of the hat works well against the smooth background and shiny hooks.
