The simple things in life.

Lots of people seem to be talking about their one word for the year, I can't think of one word but one thing I am going to try to do this year is keep things simple.
We get a box of vegetables delivered each week and as I took out the contents I was struck with the simplicity of the message on the side of the bag - a bag of spuds - don't you think everything has just become too complicated, too technical? All I really want is everything in a simple brown paper bag with a label on the side, what about you?

  1. LOL I totally agree! I just want to get deodorant and I have fifty-something brands to choose from!!!! Things are DEFINITELY way too technical, too many options in life. Love this shot by the way! :-)

  2. Simply wonderful! And I agree. Why are there so many toothbrushes to choose from? Crazy! Love the shadows and the diagonal pattern they make.

  5. The other day I was standing in the supermarket and I had the choice of about a dozen different wheat-flours. I just wanted plain, simple, every-day flour and noone could tell me which one it was. I would have appreciated a brown bag that just said "mehl".

  8. I think simplify is a wonderful intention! Life has become way too complicated...every decision needs study and research into all the options. Now I hate to go shopping -- those big box stores are a nightmare. Your photo sums up the case for simplicity so well!

  10. I couldn't agree with you more!
I love this photo, the simple packaging and label is perfect. I am often amazed at how much plastic and cardboard is used in food packaging. Let's go back to brown paper bags.

  15. You are absolutely right, Justine. I've always lived as simply as possible; simple wardrobe, simple decor in my home, simple Jeep (no frills) and you know what????? I simply enjoy my life. Love your photo of the "Bag of Spuds."

  24. Yes, isn't this the truth? How did we ever manage to make it through childhood? When you look back, things were so much simpler when we were kids. I remember even here in the city getting milk that was in glass containers delivered to our door. The silver "milk box" that sat outside was always a great place for me to sit and put on my roller skates ! Thank you for sharing this beautiful thought and photo Justine.
