Artichoke season

I love this time of year when all the wonderful vegetables and fruits are coming into the shops straight from the farms. I bought these artichokes this morning, I'm not a great fan of them as a vegetable but I do love them for their beautiful colours - nature at its best again.

  19. I never noticed until I looked at your photo what a lovely color and shape this vegetable has.

Almost looks like petals of a flower blossom.

  20. Saw the first German Asparagus in the supermarket over the weekend. Not quite ready yet but means that soon we'll be in the midst of 'Spargel season' - one of my favourite times of the year.

Artichokes are not for me either. My husband and broter-in-law would dip it in mayo. They loved it. :)

  26. Great shot. I love artichokes. They grew them while we were in Italy as a child, but I never tried them until I was an adult. Delicious. Thanks for the reminder.
