This morning I went to visit the Royal Mews since we are staying just around the corner from Buckingham Palace. The mews houses all the state carriages and of course the Royal horses. Sadly there were no horses to be seen this morning but I took a few pictures - it was packed with tourists so quite hard to get a good view of the carriages.
This is where the carriages are stored when not in use -
and this is a replica of the real thing, very lifelike!

Oh, what lucky horses to have such a regal looking stable.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots. I love seeing your travel pics. What a great time to be in London. More, please . . .
ReplyDeleteLove seeing London through your eyes.

Looks like a beautiful place Justine, and how exciting to be able to explore it!
ReplyDeleteHow great to be living so close to Buckingham Palace, maybe you will be invited in for tea :)

What an interesting place to visit. It is amazing in the second photo how lifelike they look.
ReplyDeleteAren't those stalls wonderful! Your picture is perfect - it's lit beautifully. The second picture looks a little yellow. Most of the photos I take inside y house turn out yellowy so I adjust the temperature in Lightroom and that works very well. I had to do it with my Lunch II photograph yesterday.
ReplyDeleteThis is quite an elegant place for the horses, but of course, they're royal horses. I'm looking forward to seeing more of London through your lens!
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots Justine! Those replica horses are amazing! Enjoy your explorations...and we'll enjoy your postings!!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome. It has been a few years since I visited the royal mews.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous. Charmaine
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, beautiful photos. Thanks for sharing your 'sights of London" with us ( I will be expecting a complete photo coverage of the up and coming royal wedding from you lol ). I just love all the beautiful textures and details on the harnesses and uniforms, so rich and opulent .
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful. Maybe one day I will get a change to see London..

I could move to that "garage". I mean really that is a beautiful place and just for keeping the carriages stored, ou dear:)
ReplyDeleteHow gorgeous, Justine! I love the angles! And the repeating patterns in the first one is so fantastic!
ReplyDeleteWow... Those pics are gorgeous! That must have been a marvelous trip. I wish I was there... ;(
ReplyDeleteI thought it was real!! Very pretty with the lights.
ReplyDeleteSo cool! I'll bet it is tempting to play tourist every day.
ReplyDeletevery cool
ReplyDeleteI guess I missed this post before Justine. I really like this...never seen it before. I always like to show these to my husband too as he knows more about London than I do.
ReplyDeleteGlad that there are people who are interested in this place. :) You've taken nice photos. Hope to see some more.
