Finally I have finished doing everything I needed to in the house, we have been here six months - time has gone so quickly. A man arrived yesterday to fit the headboard in my daughter's bedroom and my window seat cushion in the book room so now I can just sit back and enjoy it all. I think I will sit reading a biography of Charles Dickens by Claire Tomalin that I have just started. What are you reading? I am hoping it will inspire me to spend 2012 reading all his novels, I should start with a Christmas Carol as soon as possible, anyone care to join me?

ReplyDeleteThis looks wonderful, Justine! And the window seat so very inviting! What an interesting reading project, and I think about joining in, although my reading time is very limited at the moment. I think l'll put "Christmas Carol" on my wish list for Christmas and will start with that one, too!
ReplyDeleteIt looks lovely. A book room! Wow. Enjoy your Dickens.

Oh Justine, your home looks absolutely gorgeous! I just love what you have done! - can you believe six months has passed?? wish I could be there to see it all. Pleased to hear that you have time for some reading, in your new library space. I have just finished reading "The Elegance of the Hedgehog" by Muriel Barbery which I have thoroughly enjoyed, have you read it ?? Please show more photos of your new home!
ReplyDeleteA perfect place to sit and read and I'm sure your daughter loves the new headboard and photos. I will make a good effort to read A Christmas Carol, too...the biography sounds good, too. Have started Major Pettigrew's Last Stand..
ReplyDeleteI read A Christmas Carol last Christmas- I like it because it's quite short (I find Dickens a bit hard) I attempted to read Oliver Twist because I thought I should read it- but never finished. Maybe a Dickens biography would help.
ReplyDeleteI'm reading "The Help"- really enjoying it.
That window seat is beautiful - the perfect place to curl up with a great classic!
ReplyDeleteLovely arrangements... :) Especially in the second one..
ReplyDeleteSo awesome love that window nook! Wish I had time to read something...sigh..

ReplyDeletewow, the place looks amazing. i am reading "on beauty" by zadie smith. i like it, but not loving it.
ReplyDeleteI am insanely jealous of that window seat! What a lovely spot to read. Dickens has given me fits over the years (Little Dorritt drove me away from an English major in college), but I have always loved A Christmas Carol!
ReplyDeleteI love the picture arrangements! I have something similar above our headboard.
ReplyDeleteTerrific ~ I love how you have those photos. And that window bench ~ what a perfect place to curl up for an afternoon nap or with a good book! Lovely!
