A purple theme

As more flowers appear in my garden there is a definite theme of purple appearing! This clematis has just flowered.  It is interesting inheriting an established garden. I have always made my gardens predominantly white but I do love the element of surprise I am experiencing at the moment. I have packets of seedlings to plant this week, I have again chosen mostly white and I'm hoping they will fill the garden all summer long. What colours do you love in your garden?

  4. Lovely. I like how you've focused this at the lip of that one petal, and let the purple speak.

  9. I love this! My clematis died last year and I haven't planted a new one, now I'm wondering why. My garden is mostly white, with purple and orange accents....seems to go well with our brick house. I wonder what your next discovery will be?

  10. I seem to have a lot of blue, especially in May. I have no idea how that happened but then my garden is a little unplanned and wild. I have a lot of weeds with little white flowers at the moment - they're floating in the puddles in my borders!

  14. This is so pretty Justine.
I planted 2 white clematis last year, and am hoping for some flowers this year.
I tend to like any white flower. Not sure it it's the white flower I like, or the fact that I like to photograph white flowers!

  17. What a beautiful "moody" photo, it looks like a painting. A garden 'IS' colour, I love all colours, but I do have to say a white garden is serene, elegant and fresh and I adore white roses on mass. I tend to not be so keen on yellow as most of the weeds we have in Australia have yellow flowers and we get plenty of those in our garden. xx
