Polaroids

I have been taking polaroids on and off for a couple of years now but I have found the film frustrating as the results have been so haphazard but I decided to go on a polaroid workshop after reading about it on Shutter sisters. Yesterday I headed back to Brick Lane with my polaroid 600 and spent a lovely few hours learning about the history of polaroid and the films with Cyrus. We then headed out around the streets of Shoreditch to practice using the new PX680 film. It seems that the impossible project has a lot of these workshops and if you are in London there is another one in November, it is a great way to spend a saturday morning too.

  2. Well you've educated me this morning, Justine....I thought the use of Polaroids was a thing of the past. In fact we sold a box of them at our big summer yard sale. No wonder the guy who bought them was so excited. Maybe he got a really good deal and will put them to good use. I still have lots of my polaroid photos from the 70's and they are in great condition.

  4. Great shots..love the "atmosphere" that the Polaroid creates. My 2 daughters both have Polaroids because they love anything "vintage" and because it gives an "instant" image...generation Y, so impatient ! Your photography classes sound like so much fun and so interesting, and you must be learning heaps. Thanks for sharing, I love hearing and seeing what you're up to. xx

  5. I was just looking online for one of these classes in NYC but there's none scheduled at this time. I'd like to know why 2 out of the 8 photos I take are no good and completely washed out and this is with the new film. I'd really like some tips, hopefully they'll offer a class in the future. Lovin' your images.

  6. I remember having a Poloraid camera. I also had the "Kodak Disc". Remember that one? How fun to attend a workshop. Good job!

  8. How fun. I wish I still had my polaroid camera. It was such a pain to find the film and expensive. Great shots my friend.

  10. So interesting to read about the Polaroid workshop and see the shots you took in the streets of Shoreditch - my favourite is the man with the cup, it's a great capture.
