Wreath making

I absolutely love making winter wreaths and all around me in the local streets, the doors are decorated with the most elaborate displays. I am fortunate enough to be able to raid my mother's garden and forage for everything I need and this morning I spent the most relaxing morning make wreaths. Have you ever tried to make one? it's so easy and such a lovely thing to do when it is pouring with rain and cold like today.

First you need to get your ring - I bought mine off amazon and also ordered live moss, floristry wire and some red ribbon. The first thing you need to do is attach your floristry wire to the ring and then its just a matter of grabbing large handfuls of your moss and wrapping the wire around it and pulling it tight. Eventually you will end up with a circle full of moss like this -

The next thing you need to do is gather all your beautiful greenery into piles - berries, holly etc and then you use the fir tree to create a second layer around the ring and again hold it all in place with the floristry wire.

Then it is just a matter of slowly putting all the lovely greenery on to your wreath, tuck everything in under the wire and make sure you can't see any of the moss anywhere. Once this is all done you add a ribbon and that's it! then you hang it on your door and enjoy each time you come back home.
