I have written here before about my love of books. I am currently reading "englightenment" by Sarah Perry. I have read her other books and absolutely loved the Essex Serpent and this one is proving to be just as good. It is set in a village in Essex and involves ghosts, families, the Baptist Church and astronomy and I can't put it down. I love the way she writes and one memorable line is when she is talking about a funeral and mentions the "unhappy sandwiches" which manages to encapsulate everything about a funeral in two words. What are you reading?
