I noticed I seem to be taking a lot of pictures of my taps lately as part of Darrah Parker's slice of life project. This week is all about rituals and routines. My husband shaves every morning using an old fashioned brush and shaving cream, he always has done and I think since we live in an old house with old style taps, it sort of fits if you seen what I mean.

such a great shot Justine!!!!
ReplyDeleteJustine, if there is anyone who can make a tap look good it is you!! I just love the old fashioned brushes and cream, Im certain many childhood memories are filled with children watching their father's lather up.
ReplyDeleteI Love This! If I had such neat taps I would be tempted to take lots of pictures of them also. Such a neat set up with your husband's brush also!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot, Justine. I bet you could do photoshoots for catalogs.
ReplyDeleteAnother lovely shot from you!
ReplyDeleteTaps have their own charm :)
I love the close shave of old fashioned brushes, cream and razors. My grandfather used to always shave this way, I loved it and wish more people would still do it today.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful - I love the you even captured a drop of water coming out of the tap.
ReplyDeleteAnother lovely shot. My husband also uses shaving foam and a squirrel brush and swears nothing else gives as good a shave. Think you need a washer :-)
ReplyDeleteold houses are amazing. they have such wonderful details. we live in a house from the 1920's and I appreciate it every day. Beautifully captured, Justine.
ReplyDeleteI like the old type taps...mine would not be photo worthy! Lovely shot. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt definitely fits.
ReplyDeleteI love how you caught the drop of water. Such a wonderful vintage mood. Brava!
ReplyDeleteHI Darrah, I love the subject it isn't easy to make taps look good but you succeed. Carla
ReplyDeleteI am going to enjoy following this blog - your shots are so simple and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove this ! ( my hubby too shaves with brush and razor) I really like how you can take a very mundane, boring subject and transform it into something, not just interesting, but beautiful. Thank you too for the B&W info. Have'nt got to it yet but will. xx
ReplyDeleteThis is too gorgeous. Simple and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving these shots of your taps!! I would love to see more photos of your "old house" - it looks very charming!!
ReplyDeleteWhen my son was younger, he used to talk about shaving with a brush and that shaving cream that looks like a round bar of soap, and was always wanting a shaving brush. I found an old one of my grandfather's and let him play with that.
The tones in this Justine are so perfect for the shot. Love old shaving "tools," and you have captured this beautifully!
ReplyDeleteJustine... Haven't checked in for awhile... This shot is perfect as are your other black & whites. You are always an inspiration!
ReplyDeleteCool photo.
