I love taking photographs of flowers as you know and am always on the look out for vases. I saw in a magazine that wine decanters make good vases so I dusted off one that we got given as a wedding present 24 years ago and decided to put some ranunculas in it, I don't know about you but we never put wine in decanters anymore. I keep seeing blog posts for painting mason jars but haven't got around to doing that yet, what do you use for vases? anything interesting?

Lovely! I'd love to get a selection of old milk bottles! I have a small one, but I'd love to have more.
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely. We never use our decanters for wine either, don't know why I didn't think of this! Jam jars and a water carafe are my current vessels of choice, dolled up with a bit of ribbon.
ReplyDeleteThe wine decanter makes a beautiful and elegant vase! Perfect for your lovely ranunculas.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! What a great idea for a decanter... think I'll see if I can't find mine.
ReplyDeleteI do love vases, always on the lookout for new and interesting colors and sizes, love your idea of the wine decanter...never received one as a wedding gift so I won't be using that. Beautiful ranunculus!!
ReplyDeleteactually, my favorite vase is an old clear mason jar that my grandmother use to use for canning back in the '30's. i love filling it with sunflowers.
ReplyDeletebeautiful flowers, justine!
They're such beautiful flowers! It looks the perfect vase to display them. I've tried (unpainted) mason jars and also a small fishbowl to display shorter stems. Wonderful captures! -londonlulu (jude)

Maybe you can call me stupid if I say that I don't see real yellow rose upto this time. Really. In your picture, it is gorgeous. Yellow is sweet.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!! Ranunculas are some of my favorite flowers...and don't you just love how R-a-n-u-n-c-u-l-a jus rolls off your tongue when you say it???
ReplyDeleteWine decanters are a great idea... and three look so sweet in it. I will have to borrow this idea. And wine decanters lined up on a shelf would be a nice visual as well. :) Love the photo with the bunch upon the table as well.
