Summer on film

I hope you had a lovely Christmas and new year and that January is treating you well. It's summer here, lazy days, lots of book reading - I highly recommend "a gentleman in Moscow" by Amor Towles, a truly wonderful read. I have been busy with film again and spent a happy few days taking pictures and thought I would share them with you. What do you have planned for 2018 with your photography? I am looking for inspiration so please do share any projects.

To market, to market

Oh I do love a good market don't you? I went to Bondi markets today and had a lovely morning checking out all the beautiful produce. I bought some flowers and bread and coconut yoghurt and enjoyed taking photographs of everything else on offer.

Lanterns of the terracotta warriors

I went into the City today to catch up with the lovely Leanne and we went to see the 'Lanterns of the terracotta warriors'. These wonderful warriors were created for the Beijing olympics by the artist Xia Nan and now they are in Sydney and they are truly magnificent. The warriors are larger than life and are made of fabric and wire and tomorrow night they will be lit up for Chinese new year celebrations. If you live in Sydney I urge you to visit them, they really are wonderful and they look perfect against the Opera house.

 

Happy 2015!

Oh my goodness I can't believe how quickly the last three weeks have gone, we had a wonderful time in England and have arrived back home to Sydney a bit jet lagged and jaded.
I thought I would start with a glimpse of Hong Kong for you. We began and ended our trip in Hong Kong, we had lived there for three years so it felt like catching up with an old friend, a few changes here and there but basically everything is as I remember.
My favourite place has always been the markets, so vibrant and colour and so much noise, smell and people going about their daily life. There is always a cat somewhere.
